Happy Hour: Concluding Coat Week

Oct 27, 2023

I’m usually down on Spokane.  But I will admit, this fall was beautiful.  A long, mild October surrounded by fall colors was a gift.  So when the snow showed up yesterday, it was tremendously unfortunate.  And it got me thinking of warm cocktails.

The Hocus Pocus Old Fashioned gets its flavor from the spiced honey syrup.  The syrup is then mixed with pumpkin butter, Bourbon,  orange bitters and lemon juice.  I’d serve this warm in a mug, even though the creator serves it over ice.  It’s simply too cold to even think about an icy cocktail right now.

And speaking of which, it’s time to conclude coat week.

For winter casual wear, you will often find me in a puffy vest.  Zella has several options, but this olive hooded option is great.  They also make a longer option that I would layer over a chunky black sweater and Cold Gear leggings.  This black one is also fantastic.

Prefer a puffer coat?  My favorite one comes in multiple styles and thicknesses.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
