Sweater Week: Relaxed with a Little Glamour

Nov 30, 2021

As we enter the pandemic’s third year (yes, that sentence hurt to type), many workplaces that were previously professional attire are now embracing business casual.  This balance between sweatpants and suits seems to have fallen on sweaters with jeans or leggings as the go to look for winter.  So this week, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite sweaters.

This T Tahari sweater from Bloomingdale’s has a cool color blocking effect where the front is this mink color and the back is black.  Add in a mockneck and dolman sleeve, and you have a sweater that is both cozy and a little bit glamorous.

The sweater is available in this color way and a gray and black color way.  The size range on this piece runs from XS to XL, which translates to 0 to 16.  Tahari sells the same style of sweater in plus-size, in several colors, but not the colorblock.

This would be a great sweater to wear with black jeans or faux leather leggings.  It’s a good choice for work or a casual dinner with friends.  For a slightly nicer outing, like a holiday party, add in a cool boot and a big earring.

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
