The Find: A Bralette for (Almost) Every Body

Sep 28, 2021

Bralettes and no wire bras are a great option for days when you don’t feel like wearing a ‘real’ bra.  But many bralettes aren’t designed for women with a bust size bigger than 34C, and even when they are, they can give you an unflattering uniboob.

Not this one.

Cosabella’s Soire Curvy Bralette is designed for women wearing a wide range of bust sizes.  This bra runs 28DD to 40H, and works well for women who a small band and large cup size.

The crossover style separates and lifts without wires.  The wider straps are comfortable.  And the mesh material is lightweight and provides added support.

Need something that looks more like a regular bra?  This Wacoal Wire Free Bra is everything you love about a bra without the wire.  Need a larger size range?  This Paramour bra runs to size 44H, and this Lane Bryant lightly lined bra runs to size 50.

For those of us who have something of the opposite problem — I’ve liked Pepper bralettes! Breastfeeding made me as flat-chested as a 13-year-old and I can’t even fill out a “normal” sized bralette, which was depressing as I was adjusting to a new body shape. But I would rather wear a wireless bra or bralette than nothing, and the ones I have from Pepper feel like someone took the time to make me feel good about my new body.

There are a bunch of Cosabella bra two packs on sale at Nordstrom right now, including this style. Any chance of an affiliate link to them?

Thanks so much for sharing this. I have been looking for a bralette that was not a pullover, but had an actual clasp. This looks perfect!

The Find: A Striped Tee

Without question, the most worn item in my wardrobe is a black-and-white striped tee. I wear it in winter under sweaters, in spring with white jeans, in summer with black shorts. I’ve been wearing the same one for years (it’s the best). But they don’t make it anymore. So here are some options for replacement.

The Find: Like a McCall’s Pattern

When I was young, my Mother used to bring me along when she would go shopping for fabric. As a result, I spent a lot of time, killing time, flipping through pattern books. So when I spotted this dress, I was instantly transported to the pattern table at a Jo-Ann Fabrics.

Ask the Editor: Vol. IV, No. Eighteen

Before we start today’s reader questions, I wanted to take a moment to talk a bit about mental health. For those who experience mental health challenges — whether occasionally or frequently — talking about our struggles is a double-edged sword.
