The Find: A Gorgeous Bird Print

Jan 20, 2021

In my youth, I only wore solids.  No stripes.  No prints.  Just solids.  It was a bleak, boring existence.  But this top with a gorgeous bird print is sure to please lovers of prints and those who prefer solids.

I like the crane print on this Zeagoo blouse from Amazon.  The green is my favorite, but it also comes in black and a vibrant blue.

When I ordered this blouse, I was hoping for slightly thicker material, but this is H&M quality as opposed to Banana Republic quality.  But I really like the cut of the blouse for tucking into a pencil skirt.

As for styling, I recommend a white blazer and black pants for work.  For a more casual look, try these burgundy pants from Ann Taylor to bring out the pops of mauve in the print.

Like the bird print?  This black and white ‘woodland’ print blouse from Marks & Spencer is worth a look.  I also like this Modcloth tie-neck blouse with a dove print.

That’s a beautiful blouse! And perfect for work.

This is gorgeous, but I’ll admit (and maybe I’m just hungry) but my eye initially read the birds as shrimp haha

Abra, I love this shirt and just bought it in blue. Would you style the blue with a white blazer and black pant as well? Green just doesn’t work on me, but I do agree that’s a beautiful color in this shirt. Thank you!

“In my youth, I only wore solids”… I think my appropriate internet-meme response is, “I feel seen.” Headed back to the office Monday after a 2-month work from home stint, and really appreciating your posts to psych myself up for real pants and real shoes again. Maybe some prints, too.

I might be alone here – it felt very odd to tune into national news coverage that felt business-as-usual, and I would love a recap of fashion at inauguration (kind of similar to the old red carpet recaps you’d do) if you’re thinking on content ideas.

+1 to inauguration fashion recap! I have no need for a dress coat in my life, but I now have a strong desire to buy one in a bright color to wear to my mailbox the 10 days a year it gets cold enough here to wear one.

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
