The Find: An Accessory for Your COVID Mask

Jul 14, 2020

Washington’s mask mandate requires everyone to wear a mask when in a public indoor space.  As a result, I’m putting on and taking off my mask while I run errands or when I got out to eat.  And when I take it off, I’m usually folding it up in my purse or shoving it in my pocket.  So I went looking for a better way.

Remember eyeglass chains?  Your Nana probably used them to keep her readers handy when she wasn’t wearing them.  Well, they’re back in fashion.  But instead of preventing me from losing my designer sunglasses, I’m using them to keep my face mask at the ready.

This ATLanyard with clips on the end has a versatile black bead chain, and comes in at an affordable $12.  This simple metal chain also caught my eye.  Or pick up this easy braided cord eyeglass chain in pale pink.

If you had told me a year ago that I’d be searching for a fashionable, functional way to keep my new Graf & Lantz face mask handy, I would have told you that you were crazy.

Thanks for always sharing helpful tips and tricks to make life a a little bit easier. I have a mask holder from an etsy shop set up by a teen-she handmakes each one and donates a portion of the sales: themaskholder.etsy.com They are good quality and pretty, plus it feels good to support a local young person. The holder is a game changer on the days I run errands!

ordered the glasses chain! thanks for the recommendation. whenever I’m walking around the ‘hood and don’t have pockets, it’s been really annoying to figure out what to do with my mask (of course this is only when I take it off when there’s no one around 🙂 )

I don’t think any of us would have ever believed that 2020 would become the year of so many new “common” words (COVID, coronavirus, social distancing, pandemic), or that face masks are now fashionable and need accessories worthy of blogposts! Love the chain idea, I feel like I’m constantly hanging my mask off on ear and feel silly.

I’ve been using short purse straps from amazon! Works great! Has lobster clasps instead of spring clips.

eShakti’s masks come with a ribbon for around your neck. It definitely comes in handy!

I love stocking stuffers.  They are the best part of Christmas.  There’s just nothing quite like an affordable gift that’s funny or useful or chic (or maybe all three).  So here is Part One of my stocking stuffer gift guides, where nothing costs more than $30.

Since my daughter was born, Amazon has claimed so much of my money that I had to buy stock just to get some of it back.  Between the formula, onesies, fruit pouches, diapers, wipes, and ever evolving list of baby development gear, I could not survive without Prime.   My husband no longer notices the […]
