The Find: A Lightweight Cardigan

Jun 29, 2020

The lesson for 2020 is not to make any plans.  Being on the hunt for a job, I scheduled informational interviews and networking coffees this week.  A recent spike in COVID-19 cases in Spokane has cancelled all of those.

So we are back to Zoom.  It’s like we never left.

This Rib Trim Open Cardigan from LOFT is a good choice for a chilly office.  It’s lightweight, so it’s summery, but it will protect you from the air conditioning.  And it layers perfectly over dresses and summer tops.

If you prefer a longer style, their Pocket Open Cardigan has that drapey look.  And their Textured Open Poncho (trust me, it’s not what you’re thinking) has a very relaxed, ‘cool girl’ look to it.  The poncho style also comes in plus-size.

My moved to the next stage of reopening faster than the rest of the state twice. The second time, we simultaneously rescinded the order to wear face coverings (omitting digression here). Now we are over the state metrics for opening by large margins, and no one seems to care or do anything about it. Good luck on your Zoomformationals.

Exactly what I need right now. I’m now in a chilly, mostly-vacant, extra casual office and have been wearing cropped pants, Rothys, and a cardigan or blazer every day.

I LOVE this cardigan, but it is insanely hot here (ok, ok, I live in Arizona, what was I expecting? haha). Will you please post some options for warm weather? Even working from home, it’s not super cool because my AC can only do so much. I’m comfortable, thankfully!, but it’s not cardigan weather outside or inside here… thank you!

My dark under eye circles have been the bane of my existence since I was 12. Is the cause lack of sleep? Dehydration? Sinus issues? Stress? Who the hell knows. But there they are, every day, telling the world that I am an exhausted working Mom.

Sloane loves the pool. She jumps from the deck into the water with a crash, never considering her own safety, only to emerge on the surface, shouting “Again!” The pool is my daughter’s happy place. But no place where I need to wear a swimsuit in public is a happy one for me.

The Mondays: July 22, 2024

The Crowdstrike/Microsoft Meltdown forced me to take a few days off this weekend. No laptop. No billable hours. So we packed Sloane up for a visit to a local llama farm, stopped by the pool, went for coffee, etc. Few things are as funny as watching a 23-month old feed carrots to a ravenous rescue […]
