The Find: A Fresh Dress for Summer

Jul 8, 2019

This is the hardest time of year to write this blog.  Retailers are preparing for the fall.  Shoppers are just barely settling into summer, which will be over before you know it.  And half the bloggers you and I follow are seemingly endless vacations that require little more than Daisy Dukes and a straw hat.

This CeCe Tie Front Midi Dress ($119) comes in a lovely vibrant green that’s perfect for the warmer weather.  The tie-front neckline is pretty and unique.  With a bright color and a feminine style, this is a dress that is bound to generate compliments.

For work, I would add a fitted navy one-button blazer and a simple cognac-leather high heel.  For a the weekend, I would wear a pair of tortoise bangles and these cork Ann Taylor wedges.

    Love this pick.

This is the kind of dress I love seeing… it’s bra friendly! It has sleeves! It’s not extremely short! The neckline is appropriate for real life! It’s also cute!

The only thing missing is a natural fabric but I will take what I can get. It has seemed pretty much impossible lately to find dresses that are an actual complete outfit on their own- this one is a good option, thanks Abra!

      Second Stephanie’s comment. Great pick!

Totally agree. It hits all of those points which are big for me too. I did go and check the material and I hate polyester so I decided not to order it (unless it goes on sale then I might consider) but hey, it’s hard to find something that fits so many requirements.

Switch out the wedges with LK Bennets and you have a perfect Duchess of Cambridge outfit

I’m not a medical professional, but your mom’s pain and rash sound like similar to what my mom went through a few years ago. She was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis by a rheumatologist and a dermatologist. She eventually started doing Humira treatments, which were really effective. There were several bumps along the way as her doc helped her discover which meds would work for her, but it’s been pretty manageable for her with limited to no pain or rash while on the medicine.

Whatever the case is with your mom, I hope it’s discovered soon so that she can get the relief she needs. Take care!

The Range: Eyelet Tops for Summer

Airy eyelet fabrics are one of my favorite spring/summer looks. White is, of course, the traditional fabric. But white is tough to wear when you have a toddler, so let’s go with navy this summer.
