Fantastic Finds: The Perfect Camisole

Every professional woman needs a smooth-fitting camisole.  A great cami is the solution to a myriad of wardrobe malfunctions including sheer blouses and dresses that show a bit too much.  So which camisole do I consider utterly perfect?

Halogen’s Seamless Two-Way Tank (2 for $29) is the best.  Here’s why.

First, the weight is perfect.  So many tanks are flimsy and useless.  Second, the wider straps keep your bra straps tucked away.  Third, the tank is reversible, so you can have a deeper neckline if you need it.  Fourth, it’s long enough to tuck in.  And fifth, it comes in a decent selection of colors (though I wish there were more “nude” tones).

The tank also comes in plus-size.

I think the site actually lists these tanks as 2 for $49…

I own three of these and they are the best. They hold up so well. I found mine at Nordstrom Rack for $15 each, so it’s worth a look!

These are great! I prefer the thinner strap version. It looks fantastic under everything.

How do these compare to the Nordstrom branded camis you’ve recommended before? I love those!

I honestly think they’re the same product under a new label. I can’t tell the difference.

    2 questions:
    1) Does anyone know how opaque the white version is?
    2) Can anyone comment on the fit? The smallest size offered is a “Small” (the site claims this fits 4-6), but it’s hard to guess what that really means – I’m surprised there’s no XS/XXS.

I own the small, I’m a six, but the material is really stretchy, so I could see it fitting a 2, maybe even a 0.

Thank you! Now where the heck can I find a decent, affordable slip for smoothing under dresses? Everything is either grandma lace & satin or uncomfortable shape-wear. I have great slips from The Limited (RIP) in multiple colors but they’ve reached the end of their lifespan.

If you have an outlet mall near you, Maidenform. I know, for grandmas, but grandmas wear slips.

I have two of those and a similar two sold in a two-pack at Costco. 🙂 love the opacity, length, strap concealment. Only slight problem is they’re a bit heavy and so a bit warm, not so good for layering under a sheet blouse or wrap dress in a D.C. summer.
