The Find: Spanx Denim

Feb 26, 2026

All women want is equality and clothes with pockets. It doesn’t seem that hard. But making clothes without pockets, or with small, unusable pockets, is sadly common (even if it’s sexist). So even though I loved my Spanx jeans — comfortable, stylish, with a little bit of shaping — I hated that they only had back pockets. But, ladies, the latest run of denim from Spanx has front pockets and I love them even more now.

Whether it was the baby or the beginnings of perimenopause, I am a 43-year-old woman with belly fat. 97% of the time, I don’t care. That 3% of the time though can be brutal. Spanx jeans are a good choice for me because they smooth a bit, flatten a bit, but don’t feel uncomfortable or constricting. Add in the pockets and I am now fully on board.

These 90s straight leg jeans are a great option for spring summer. I love the lighter wash, but there are darker choices available. The crop makes them nice with flats or sandals. And they just feel a little bit relaxed, but they’re easy to dress up.

I highly recommend these jeans. Full disclosure, I own four pair of Spanx jeans. I purchased two. I was gifted two. The pair featured above is one I purchased after they sent me these wide legs.

So, do they stretch?! I hate when jeans look great when I put them on and baggy a few hours later.

So I bought Spanx leggings and FOOLISHLY ripped the tag off and they …. do NOT fit, even though they are a size up from what i normally get.

How do you look at their sizing? Am I just supposed to squeeze in these and consider it normal? They’re painful to put on and don’t seem to do anything positive!

So in leggings I go up, because I don’t like being squeezed. In jeans, I’m usually fine to take my usually size. Same in pants.

I love my wide leg Spanx jeans too. They are comfortable and look really sharp. They maintain shape during the day.

Thanks for the rec Abra! Finally bought a few pairs on your recommendation. Do you remember how the wide leg stretched? Out of the box the size I bought is ok, but if it stretches even a little bit I might need a size down.
