This winter was particularly hard on my psyche, on my self-esteem, and on my waistline. As we move into spring, I need to make a plan for how I am going to dress this additional weight over the months of work that it will likely take to shed it. So I was so glad to find an affordable, flattering dress to help get me through.
This dress from London Times has a swingy fit-and-flare style, a selection of colors and a button accent to help define the waist. It is an easy and forgiving dress to throw on on a tough morning. It works well for a conference. And it makes a great option for campaign work because you can wear it with heels or flats and a denim jacket.
The dress is available in different colors at different retailers. JCPenney has this fab cobalt. Kohl’s has navy, rose pink, and periwinkle. Macy’s has black and dark green. Amazon has it in plus sizes, and a selection of additional colors in misses (but not in every size).
Prefer a shorter sleeve? Nordstrom Rack has it. So does Amazon.
And if fit-and-flare is not your preference, Amazon has a sleeker sheath style in several colors.
This is a great dress for spring and summer. It’s under-$100, some places as little as $50. And you can choose the color and style that works for you. If only other retailers would make it so easy.

I have this dress in green and love it! It worked great to speak at a conference. The weight is nice and the fabric feels substantial. I will say that I’m 5’5″ and the original length was a bit mumsy, so I had to get it hemmed a bit.
Also, if you are between sizes and smaller on top, size down!
Great find! Unfortunately the waist looks high for those of us who are long-waisted. Always a challenge in fitted dresses, sigh.
