The Find: A Cute Spring Dress

Mar 28, 2024

Need a cute dress for a spring event? Something simple and easy to wear, something you can dress up or down? This is the dress for you.

I think this dress from August Sky is an easy entry to the peasant dress/nap dress trend.  I would probably hem it a hair, and cut in a slit to lighten the look.  But it doesn’t overdo it.

Not loving the floral?  They have a similar dress in four solid colors?

Plus-size?  The pale blue on this Max Studio dress is lovely.

All of these are easy throw-on dress that you can wear casually with sandals, or with an easy heel to a relaxed wedding.  Found any great affordable dresses lately?  Leave them in the comments.

I’ve tried repeatedly to do the nap dress trend. I can’t pull it off. It’s like my sarcastic career woman soul won’t allow it, it’s too precious and sweet. It looks SO CUTE on others. Maybe this is the solution. Glad to hear you would alter it a bit, Abra, sounds like you might struggle with the trend as well.

I just got this from Soma a couple weeks ago. It is soft, it has pockets, it has a BUILT IN BRA. I’m a 36D, and I feel supported, and I’m 5’4″ and it is the perfect maxi length.

I will say – look for the ones that say they have a shelf bra if you look at other dresses and want the built in bra benefit. I bought a 2nd one that just had like cups sewn into the lining, and it was strange and I returned it. The shelf bra option has more like a bra with removal cups built in.

Looks like a great style for travel. Versatile, doesn’t matter if it has wrinkles, etc.

The green version will make all your Liesl curtain-dress fantasies come true!! LOL!! (I kind of love it.)

A few months ago, my husband killed two of my plants. I was out of town for several weeks, and while I was away, he apparently forgot that plants need water to live. So when I returned, my snake plant and my Calamondin tree were both dead, while his braided money tree continued to thrive. […]

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
