The Find: Stylish Crossbody <$80

Mar 25, 2024

When Pinterest fed me an ad for this bag, I thought, “Hmmm, this has nice storage. It’s a good size. I wonder if it comes in other colors.” When I saw it was discounted from $398 to $55, I bought it instantly.

This Michael Kors Smartphone Crossbody has two larger compartments and an exterior pocket to hold your phone. It comes in black, brown, white and this poppy color. (I went for the burst of color.) All of the colors are deeply discounted. I’m really excited to have a hands-free bag to wear while running errands and traveling this summer.

Now, as you know, I hate when my bags have large logos on the outside. And while this is a smaller logo, I still don’t want it there because the brand isn’t as respected as it once was. Last year, I took an older MK bag to a cobbler and had him remove the Michael Kors lettering. The people at Purse Blog were correct, tiny holes were left behind. The cobbler covered it with a blank gold-plated plaque. You could also order a custom one on Etsy with your monogram or a logo. It was a great way to boost the look of a well-made, well-loved bag from a brand that’s no longer flying high.

Beautiful, and just what I’ve been looking for, for a spring/summer handsfree option. But will it hold a single diaper and small pack of wipes? My youngest is just about old enough for me to drop the full diaper bag, but you always need a backup!

Thank you for the info on removing the logo and what to do afterward! I too, hate the logo and would want to remove it. Love the idea of adding a custom monogram plate instead.

  3. I went to the web to purchase the bag an it’s $79.00 instead of $55.00.

Sloane loves the pool. She jumps from the deck into the water with a crash, never considering her own safety, only to emerge on the surface, shouting “Again!” The pool is my daughter’s happy place. But no place where I need to wear a swimsuit in public is a happy one for me.

The Mondays: July 22, 2024

The Crowdstrike/Microsoft Meltdown forced me to take a few days off this weekend. No laptop. No billable hours. So we packed Sloane up for a visit to a local llama farm, stopped by the pool, went for coffee, etc. Few things are as funny as watching a 23-month old feed carrots to a ravenous rescue […]
