State of the Blog: Bar Exam Respite

Feb 17, 2022

The Bar Exam is next week. It’s been five years since the last time I passed it.  Almost seven years since I took my last law school final.  And I need to study.

Obviously, I’d rather be here, writing about shoes and lipsticks.  But if I fail, I’ll never live down the embarrassment.  See you soon.

Best of luck to you! You are a rock star for taking another bar exam. Taking another bar exam is a whole other level of impressiveness. We’re rooting for you!

You will be fine. Memory from BAR-BRI: topic was mens rea – example: husband-wife are fighting, he grabs gun, shoots her, she dies.Class discussion ensues. “Yeah, but what if he only wanted to wing her?”

    Sending love & encouragement.

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

Too Many Tabs: April 19, 2024

This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds. Just going to leave this right here.  (I really need to work on “Didn’t make […]

The Find: My Best Workout Shorts

For eight years, I have worn the same workout shorts. Every year, an influencer tries to sell me new shorts. I order them. I try them on. They pale in comparison to the shorts I already own. I return them.
