Re: That viral parenting comic – the artist, Mary Catherine Starr, lived in DC for many years. She used to teach yoga at Tranquil space for those who are familiar with it!

  2. Lost says:

“the last word” is so true! That soup recipe looks delicious.

  3. CitrineDC says:

The “brain dump!” My former boss / mentor (also a former NASA engineer) told me about that trick. He said he keeps a pad or stickies on his bedside table, so if he wakes up in the middle of the night concerned about something, he would would just write it down to get it out of his head. I started making a list each evening before signing off work that helps calm me down.

  4. JLO says:

Love the quote at the beginning and shared multiple people; how true it is!

  5. Cara says:

The pink dress is gorgeous! Go for it & good skill with the bar exam!

  6. TR says:

The pink dress is cute and we could all use some bright, uplifting colors around the office.

  7. Sarah says:

Wow! This is the first post (compilation) I’ve read of yours, and your choices are like a breath of fresh air to me! I will absolutely be coming back. I am so glad you’re sharing things like food extinction (and how to help!). The viral comic hit way too hard, and I’m not even a parent. I had no idea I have these imposed views. I’m so glad I can move forward with self-awareness and start to make a shift. 🙂
As well, I loved the 5 love languages article! I thought it was really well written.

This weekend, I got two hours to myself for the first time in months. Really to myself. My child was asleep. My dogs were asleep. Kyle was off playing cards with his friends. My house was clean, and there was nothing else to do but sit in my bed and scroll Instagram. It was glorious. […]

The Counter: The Post-Product Era

When I was in my 20s, I bought every trendy nail polish, eye color, and lip gloss.  Sure, I could only wear them on the weekends, but why not wear emerald green liner?  In my 30s, I became enamored with skincare and took every “must-have” product for a spin.  But in my 40s, my skin […]
