Sweater Week: An Elegant Faux-Wrap

Dec 1, 2021

For work, a simple, elegant sweater is a great choice.  You can pair it with anything.  On mornings filled with nothing-to-wear, it can save you from being late to work.  Here’s one of my favorites.

I bought this Daily Ritual faux-wrap sweater earlier this year and it became my go-to “Saturday session” sweater for weekend work days.  It comes in 10 colors, doesn’t trigger the wool allergy that I’m developing late in life (yay), and is long enough it could work for tall readers.  Size range runs XS to XXL.

And did I mention it’s <$40?

Want a real wrap sweater?  This Whistles ballet sweater has a modern cut.  This Ann Taylor wrap is a classic.  And this Karen Thomas cashmere top has a little bit of drama to it.

Here’s how to wear it.

Outfit One. Black sweater + Black lace trimmed tank (plus size) + Wide leg pants

Outfit Two. Grey sweater + Grey silk slip dress + Snakeskin ankle strap sandals

Outfit Three. Navy sweater + Navy drape cardigan + Olive corduroys

There are two kinds of people in this world: People who eat cake on their birthdays and people who don’t.  And some of the weirdos in the latter category (I said what I said) eat pie as an alternative.  So if you’re a “birthday pie” eater with a late summer celebration coming up, may I […]

Our tween and teen nieces spent the first half of 2023 reviving our high school fashions.  From peasant tops to low rises, I felt like I was back bopping to N’SYNC in my mint-green sedan for a minute.  Now, our 20-something direct reports are bringing back the 2010s in a big way, and I am […]

The Find: Bright and Striped

For the past few years, the wardrobes of many influencers have tilted toward the beige and boring.  I’m all for a good basic, but staple pieces can only take you so far.  Sometimes, you need to wear something that has a little something extra, and this sale-priced tee certainly does.
