Happy Hour: A Healthy Snack

Mar 5, 2021

I didn’t realize how much of my waking hours were now spent thinking about food.  How much of my time I spend planning for it, shopping for it, cooking it, dreaming about it.  But now that I’m trying to regain control of my eating habits, turning off that part of my brain to focus on eating healthy is a real challenge.  So I’m always happy to find a healthy snack that I actually want to eat.

These fruit cups from Marvelous Misadventures contain a variety of melons and pineapple all sprinkled with chili powder and served with a lime.  It’s the perfect way to kick your basic fruit salad up a notch.  I love this as an idea for an easy, healthy afternoon snack.

Are you a Trader Joe’s shopper?  Their Chili Lime Seasoning Blend, with chili powder, salt and lime is perfect for this.

This weekend, one year ago, is when I went into quarantine with a mystery respiratory ailment.  I never could have predicted all that would happen in the 52 weeks in between.  But I can sum up my feelings on the matter quite succinctly: I’ve never felt so joyless. Blah. Bored. Dreary.

So to bring a little color back into my life, I purchased these enamel hoops from Sphera Milano.  They’re so bright and fun.  For more colorful jewelry, enamel and zircon studs or these Madewell coral dot hoops.

Prefer a pendant?  This All We Are Rising pendant looks like a bright sunrise.

Highly recommend the boom Tiny Habits for tips on building new habits of any kind. I’m listening to it on audiobook right now and loving it.

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
