Happy Hour: Orange Moscow Mule

Feb 25, 2021

(Work is a whirlwind.  So today is going to have to be my Friday. See you all Monday when things are calmed down.)

Kyle and I went on a health kick last week and bought out the entire produce section.  Predictably, things started to spoil before we got to them.  Suddenly it was either stir fry or frittata for dinner every night.  And as for all the fruit, we needed to find creative ways to use it.

This mocktail from Skinny Taste uses Cara Cara oranges, ginger beer and mint.  I swapped the mint for rosemary, because I like the flavor better, but it was still fantastic.  And if you want a cocktail instead, add a shot of Vodka.

Need the best ginger beer on the market?  I like Q Ginger Beer because it has more carbonation and doesn’t result in a flat cocktail.

When I make this again, I think I’ll add lime and Cara Cara oranges and skip the herbs.  They’re a nice addition, but I’d rather double up on the citrus.

Looking to jazz up your loungewear?  Wear a silk tank with your jersey or knit separates.

This sand-colored top from The Drop would pair nicely with Splendid’s oatmeal pant and coordinating cardigan.  It’s a relaxed look that still feels luxurious thanks to the silky tank.

Looking for other silky tanks to wear with your loungewear?  Try this black one from Free People, this navy one from Bare Necessities, and this gray one from Nordstrom.

Looking for a silk pajama set?  Lunya has a some amazing options.  For a less expensive option, try this set from Jonquil.

Plus-size?  Try this top from Forever21 or this top from Nordstrom.

Oh man. I was today years old when I found out ginger beer is non-alcoholic. I always skipped moscow mules because I don’t like beer. Opens up the cocktail world for me!

You could post once a week and I’d still be happy.

A few months ago, my husband killed two of my plants. I was out of town for several weeks, and while I was away, he apparently forgot that plants need water to live. So when I returned, my snake plant and my Calamondin tree were both dead, while his braided money tree continued to thrive. […]

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
