  1. Jess says:

True fact: I just cannot with lip scrubs. It seems so hoity-toity, which is not fair at all. I just rub my toothbrush over my lips and wear chapstick and call it a day.

  2. k-t says:

When my lips start cracking, I swipe on some pure lanolin at night. The stuff in the purple tube sold in the baby aisle for nursing moms. I’ve also used it on my dog’s paws. And on chapped knuckles and cuticles…. My “baby” is 16 years old and I’m still using the same tube.

    • EET says:

Similar–I use raw shea butter that I put in little silicone lip balm containers from Amazon. Better than anything else I’ve used (Aquaphor, Waleda, burt’s bees, chaptick, the list goes on…). And it’s extremely cheap. Bought mine in a large cottage-cheese sized tub for less than $10.

Of course I don’t take it out and about rn because of COVID and applying it with my hands, but I don’t got out and about much these days anyways.

    • Jenn S. says:

Lanolin is a wax that we get from processing wool. Is its shelf life solid after 16 years?

  3. Jo says:

I’m mostly an Aquaphor person (at the recommendation of a dermatologist I saw. a few years ago – it put an end to my annual winter dry, cracked, bleeding lips), but I have been trying out the LaNeige Lip Sleeping Mask for few weeks now…I do think it does a slightly better job. Better enough to pay several times as much for a much smaller container? Debatable, but it really is lovely and moisturizing if anyone is considering!

    • rR says:

I love the Laneige–it lasts forever, so I justify the price. I think the Glossier balm dotcom is one of the best lip balms though. That stuff stays on my lips all day.

And I love Aquaphor when things get bad. It’s my solution to many skin issues.

  4. C says:

Nuxe reve de miel lip balm in the pot. Saw it in some French cult beauty post and got some in a Canadian pharmacy and never looked back.

  5. Amanda says:

My new free favorite routine is to slightly wet my lips, apply moisturizer, then vaseline — vaseline is an occlusive that seals in the moisture! Much more effective than balms alone.

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.
