When the pandemic started, I never thought it would still be part of our every day lives 11 months later. I am back to the office, but many of us are still working from home. This week, I wanted to find some pieces that would work for both. So let’s talk about some tops that will spice up either your work from home or office wardrobe.
This Aqua Lace Puff Sleeve top is really quite fabulous. I like that the lace pattern is geometric instead of floral. It’s a more modern option. The cut of the blouse, blending a sheer a sleeve with a puff sleeve and a ruffled collar is pretty fantastic.
I could wear this solo with a pair of leggings for Zoom. For the office, I would wear my puff-sleeve blazer over it. I would also wear it with a pencil skirt and a crewneck cardigan; the ruffle neck should add a lovely detail to the crewneck buttoned or unbuttoned.
Plus-size? Try this high-neck lace insert blouse from Marks & Spencer.

How do we feel these days about bra straps showing through the shoulders of a blouse like this? OK if the same color as the blouse? Generally a no-no, wear strapless bra instead? I can’t decide.
+1 on this question. What do you think, Abra?
For eons I was religiously strapless when it came to stuff like this, but I’ve flirted with danger and matched the bra color to the blouse and it feels acceptably subtle, but I can’t tell if that’s legitimate or pandemic style brain talking. I *otherwise* think visible bra straps are a no, though.
I don’t think you’ll notice the straps on a nude bra.
Nude bra straps are essentially invisible under tops like this.
