The Find: Pull-On Jeans

Nov 10, 2020

Today’s find requires a bit of faith.  Because I’m about to do something very out of character.  I’m about to argue in favor of pull-on jeans.

I know, I know.  But just stay with me.

As much as I would like to, I cannot wear leggings everywhere I go.  And putting on my jeans for the first time when the weather turned cold, I noticed they were a little snug.  While I lose a bit of the weight I’ve gained during the pandemic, I need an interim solution.

These Levi Gold Label Pull-On Jeans are that solution.

I usually wear blouses and sweaters that cover the top of my jeans, so I don’t have to worry about the look of a missing zip-fly and button.

They also have a fit that is stretchy, but also slimming.  My fear was that they would get loose over the course of the day, but that hasn’t happened.

Lastly, they come in three inseams, so you can find the length that is right for you.  They also come in a selection of colors, but I bought the black ones, and really like the look.

Sizes run 2 to 20.  I would typically be a 6.  The size guide put me in a 4, and that was the fit I was looking for.

So if you’re looking for a comfortable pair of “jeans,” these are the ones.

Awesome! Normally I’d flee at the mention of “pull on jeans” but in quarantine, that’s just what the doctor ordered. Also, multiple inseams? Somewhat size inclusive? And $30. Yes please!

  2. Elizabeth says:

Any idea where the shoes in the picture are from?

  3. Lauren D. says:

I can vouch for these jeans too! I have a chronic pain condition and sometimes have dexterity issues that make zippers and buttons tough to work. I bought these jeans (and the black pants) a few years ago. They’re great, and they’ve held up really well with lots of wear and washing! I especially love to travel in them (back when that was a thing), because the waistband is so comfortable!

  4. Jill says:

Does the fabric of these feel like denim or like denim-printed cotton?

I’m a huge fan of the Wit and Wisdom “ab-solution” line of jeans, which also have a stretchy waistband with a button and zip closure. But the W&W jeans feel more like thin, soft, denim-printed cotton, and sometimes I’d prefer actual denim.

  5. Jessica says:

YES!!!! I bought these a few months ago as my Old Navy Rockstar Jeggings weren’t the same quality they used to be. These are awesome – look/wear like jeans but with elastic. And they don’t snap like the Old Navy ones do. Highly recommend.

I have 3 pairs of these – LOVE them. They truly look and feel like jeans, and I choose them over leggings as I think they both look and feel better / more put together. My only complaint is the lack of functional front pockets. The back pockets are functional, which helps. And I love these enough that I’ve just learned to live with it. I have the dark blue, a more medium wash, and the black (which get a little linty, but a lot of black jeans do). I will probably buy more – the price is right, and, again, I love them.

    • The Beagle has Landed says:

Same! I also have three pairs. They are absolutely jeans, thick denim, hold their shape well, and comfy (I can’t deal with zippers poking me anymore). Highly recommend! You can get them from Amazon though the black ones always seem to be sold out. I have two pairs of the dark denim and the burgundy, which I don’t love as much as the denim but are still cute.

  7. Jen says:

Question- would you say these are slim or skinnies? Hard to tell from the pictures- some look super close at the anxle, some looser!

  8. Lost says:

Yes! I bought a pair of Liverpool pull-on black jeans last winter and love them. Like you said, my shirts cover they waist band, so no one is the wiser. So comfy and I feel more pulled together than I would in leggings.

  9. Sierra Delta says:

The care instructions are the dreaded “Hand Wash Only.” Have those of you who own these gone rogue and machine washed them?

    • kleigh says:

Oh wow, really? I obviously don’t read instructions. I machine wash and dry mine at least once a week (I treat them like my regular jeans). They do great.

  10. Sarah says:

I have a pair. I bought them to wear them postpartum. Do not buy these if you are postpartum. They hit you right in your tummy where you don’t want them to. They are not high rise! And can really give you that extra muffin-top that you don’t want.

  11. Curvy CEO says:

After seven months of living indoors, I think I am officially DONE with jeans. I am married to my comfort. No ma’am!

  12. Kim says:

I’ve been wearing pull on jeans for a while because no matter what type of jeans I tried, you could ALWAYS see the top of the button flap sticking out under my shirt. Also nice to not have to accustom oneself back into zippers and buttons after months in leggings!

  13. Chloe says:

$30?! Oh god. Not even hesitating on this.

The Mondays: March 18, 2024

This weekend was a tricky one. The warm weather and bright sunshine of last weekend disappeared in a flurry of wet snow trapping our very active 18-month-old in the house with us. Plus, our babysitter cancelled, so neither of us feels ready for the week ahead. But in between making mac-and-cheese and watching Aristocats for […]
