Sweater Week: The Sweater Blazer

Oct 26, 2020

Since we are in the throes of the cold weather, I thought we would spend this week talking about sweaters.  Every day, the morning post will feature a stylish, under-$150 sweater.  Starting with this fabulous sweater blazer from Banana Republic.

This Cropped Sweater Blazer has just the right amount of structure to it.  It’s professional, but relaxed.  Pop the collar, lay it flat, whatever your fancy.  Also available in burgundy and black.

Looking for a longer style?  BR also has a long coatigan that is worth a look.

Plus-size?  Try this sweater blazer from J.Crew.  Petite?  The BR blazer comes in petite sizes.

Love a sweater blazer! I own this J.Crew Factory one in black, gray, burgundy, and dark green: https://factory.jcrew.com/p/shops/17off/sweaterblazer/G9309?color_name=black

I came here to make a plug for that one! I haven’t had it long, so can’t speak to how well it’ll hold up, and I’ve never tried the regular J Crew one to compare, my I love mine! It’s so so cozy, and also looks like a real blazer on zoom. I also love that it’s all cotton and machine washable, versus the J Crew dry clean only.

  2. Lauren says:

My VP told me these are called “jacardigans” (jacket + cardigan). Great professional pieces without feeling stiff and formal. I get multiple compliments every time I wear my Calson drape collar blazer which fits this category.

  3. Michaela says:

I saw from another blogger that your beloved MM LaFluer Morandi sweater is on sale in some colors. Just a heads up since it’s on theme for this post. I can’t bring myself to pull the trigger, but contemplating.

  4. Kelly says:

I bought this last year and love it. The best part? Machine washable.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
