The Find: Late Summer Shorts

Aug 21, 2020

Sanity walks are aptly named.  Since Sophie died, I’ve been averaging six miles per day.  And it is simply too hot to wear leggings outdoors.

My favorite shorts are the North Face Aphrodite shorts, but they are sold out everywhere.  So when I needed another pair, I turned to these Daily Ritual Tencel Drawstring Shorts.

The shorts are very comfortable and good for casual wear or outdoor exercising.  They have a loose but not baggy fit.  They have a 4″ inseam and an adjustable drawstring.  The sizes run XS to XXL.

    “Sanity Walk”. So true.

I call them “sanity walks” during the day and post-dinner “wine walks” with a certain beverage in a to-go mug.

when the rain returns to seattle I just don’t know what I’m going to do…. (my dog is a huge baby about walking in the rain).

    North Face Aphrodite are awesome!!

I can also recommend the Old Navy High-Waisted StretchTech Performance Shorts. I got them in the 5″ inseam and even though they were a little long (and thus not as flattering as I would’ve like), I kept them b/c they were so comfortable. Good pockets too

  5. Laura t. says:

I’ve been living in Old Navy’s Breathe ON Utility-Pocket Shorts for Women for months now. They have a 4.5 inch inseam, which I appreciate (no chafing) and are very soft. No back pockets though if that’s important to you.

  6. Allison says:

There’s too much smoke here (Colorado) to walk outside and I miss my sanity walks so much!

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.
