The Find: Summer Pajamas

Jul 9, 2020

One of my small joys is changing into pajamas at the end of the day.  Even if I spent the whole day in athleisure, nothing is more relaxing than changing into a pair of comfy pajamas.  And I’m in need of pajamas with shorts for summer.

This Splendid Grey Stars set caught my eye.  The print is cute and the style looks comfortable.  This lemon-printed set from Shopbop is also worth a look, as is this floral tank and short set.

Plus-size?  This Nordstrom Rack set and this pretty, graphic floral are both nice.

What do you like to sleep in during the warmer months?

The best, most breathable, softest PJs are hands down Lake Pima cotton PJs. (They are better than Nordstrom moonlight or any other brand of Pima cotton I’ve ever worn.) Lake’s PJs are pricey ($70-$110ish), but my god, they are so worth the splurge.

The only downside is that colors fade over time due to washing. However, the softness of the fabric is still the same as when I bought them well over a year ago (and I wear this brand regularly – I have 5 different sets now!)

I don’t care if it makes me an old lady, the Soma Cool Nights Pajama Shorts in black are my #1 fave. Perfect waistband, inseam length, pockets!! and soft material that washes really well with no fading or pilling. I only have one pair but I’ll be asking for these for gifts for me for the foreseeable future.

I know it’s a cliche at this point, but I have one pair of Lake pajamas and I am truly obsessed. I’ve been known to do a quick wash in the morning so I could get another couple wears out of them before needed to do a full hamper load. They have a sale in the middle of July usually, and I am going to be the person who sets an alarm to pick up like 6 more pairs.

I got these organic cotton PJs from LL Bean and they’re so, so soft and have held up in the wash well so far! Getting a bit too warm for the whole set, but they just feel really good to put on! https://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/123892?page=women-s-organic-supersoft-shrink-free-pajama-set-button-front&bc=12-27-613&feat=613-GN1&csp=f

I just got summer pajamas in May from Target’s “Stars Above” line and I love every pair I got. So far they wash well and they are really soft and breathable fabrics. Great options for shorts, camis, shortsleeves, etc too.

I never used to be a nightgown person but I’m obsessed with the “nap dresses” from Hill House Home – they’re so comfortable and I feel amazing in them. The sheer Swiss dot ones are delightful on hot nights and they just released a gorgeous summer collection that’s opaque (and has matching hair accessories…). They’d be perfect for a pool/beach coverup too. They are a little pricey at $75-125 but not as bad as similar brands I’ve seen and the quality is very good. They are size inclusive up to 18W. Highly recommend!

Saw It On Social: Rooted

A few months ago, my husband killed two of my plants. I was out of town for several weeks, and while I was away, he apparently forgot that plants need water to live. So when I returned, my snake plant and my Calamondin tree were both dead, while his braided money tree continued to thrive. […]

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
