The Find: All the Florals

Jun 18, 2020

You know I have a thing for dresses that look more expensive than they are.  Because there’s nothing better than finding something that you can afford that looks like something you splurged on. And this dress from Shopbop is such a dress.

This dress from En Saison will be perfect for a candlelit dinner date night at home, or a small gathering, or a relaxed summer wedding.  I like ditzy floral print, the breezy fabric, and the puffed, ruched sleeve.  This dress is perfectly on trend, without being so trendy that you can’t wear it this fall with tights or next spring.

En Saison has a couple other pieces worth your time.  This watermelon-hued top would look great on a Zoom call — summery but with structure.  And this ivory dress would work for cocktails at home and be a good rehearsal dinner dress for a bride.

Shopbop always has a good selection of pieces that look more expensive than their price tag.  They curate some of these pieces in their under-$200 section, which is always a good place to look for new things.  I also like to check out the English Factory pieces for what’s new, but they sell out fairly quickly at those prices.

Where’s your favorite spot for finding pieces that look high fashion at mid-tier and affordable prices?

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.
