The Range: Chic, Affordable Sunglasses

Jun 9, 2020

When most of us are still working from home, and either not going out at all or going out only a limited amount, shopping for clothes and accessories takes a backseat.  Our current reality is limiting what I need and what I “need.”  But two weeks ago, the clouds parted, the sun came out, and I realized that most of my sunglasses are either scratched up or bent out of shape.

Here are a few stylish pairs at under-$100 prices.

Le Specs Air Heart Sunglasses ($69)

Prive Riveaux Madam Polarized Sunglasses ($29)

Quay Mini Aviator Sunglasses ($65)

Ann Taylor Square Sunglasses ($48)

Anthro Lucy Mirrored Aviators ($38)

Prive Riveaux The Benz Sunglasses ($26)

DIFF Eyewear Becky ($95)

What are your go-to sunglass shapes?  I think eyewear is a fun way to boost your summer look, and it’s nice to be able to find quality sunglasses at good prices.

H&M has some great ones from their Chimi collaboration.

Those Le Specs glasses are so cute- might have to treat myself 🙂 That brand is great- very good quality!

I like a good tortoiseshell plastic frame – which of course is almost impossible to find in a style with adjustable nose pads that will fit my non-existent Asian nose bridge (my bridge is particularly flat even among other East Asians). I have a prescription pair from Maui Jim that has this holy-grail combination of a plastic frame with nose pads, because my excellent vision insurance means that it’s actually cheaper to get them with a script than without (for wearing with contacts). Otherwise I stick to cheap aviators, although they’re not my preferred style, but they’re most likely to fit.

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

The Find: Shirts That Don’t Gape

I remember when Rochelle Behrens launched The Shirt — a button-down blouse with anti-gape technology (a patented internal button that keeps the look smooth). The idea seemed brilliant, but at the time, my bust didn’t require an extra button. One baby later, I understand the need for some extra security.
