The Find: Relaxed Knit Blazers

Mar 31, 2020

It’s hard to know what to do right now.  On Sunday, I didn’t even take off my pajamas.  Just didn’t feel up to it.  This week, I have several meetings that will require a blazer.  So I went looking for jackets that were a little more relaxed; jackets that I could wear all day long.

The first place I went looking was Express.  This <$50 Soft Knit Girlfriend Blazer caught my eye.  The relaxed drape and loose-fitting sleeve makes this a comfortable blazer for sitting at your desk.

Also on the knit blazer train, I’ve spoken before about my love for the relaxed, cozy stylings of the J.Crew Juliette Collarless Sweater-Blazer.  It’s like wearing a work bathrobe, it’s that comfortable.  For something a little more fitted, try their Sophie Open Front Sweater Blazer.  All J.Crew pieces also come in plus-size.

Need a straight up blazer?  NYDJ’s ponte knit blazer was one of the best pieces I purchased during the legislative session.  I could throw it on over anything.  It’s also <$100, runs in XXS to XL.

I’m really liking the casual ‘work from home’ attire as a focus, just wondering if you have any suggestions for warm climates? It’s already close to 90 in Houston and my home office (fortunately I have a dedicated home office, very lucky) gets blazing hot in the summer due to completely inefficient a/c system and poor duct layout. I’ve been rocking race tee shirts and shorts but I see more v/c in my future!

I too love the Jcrew collarless sweater blazer. I also find that at a different price point the ponte blazers from old navy are also very comfortable – and great for travel (when that is a thing again…)

I discovered the J. Crew Factory sweater blazers some months back thanks to Audrey over on Putting Me Together and LOVE them. Very comfortable but pull a work outfit together quite nicely. I currently own black, gray, maroon, and green but have been stalking eBay for navy as well since it’s no longer carried in store.

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

The Find: Shirts That Don’t Gape

I remember when Rochelle Behrens launched The Shirt — a button-down blouse with anti-gape technology (a patented internal button that keeps the look smooth). The idea seemed brilliant, but at the time, my bust didn’t require an extra button. One baby later, I understand the need for some extra security.
