The Find: Feminine Sweatshirts

Feb 21, 2020

Sweatshirts.  Not a topic we’ve covered often, mostly because they’re not exactly work attire.  But as the campaign travel season heats up, I need to start thinking about what I’ll be wearing during long car rides across Montana.  And one of my favorite outfits is a cool sweatshirt with a comfortable pair of jeans and a jacket (either a casual blazer or utility jacket).

But finding the right sweatshirt is always a challenge.  I need it to have all the warmth and cozy-comfort of a sweatshirt, but I need it to look nicer than your standard hoodie.  Here are a few good options under-$50, because a sweatshirt shouldn’t break the bank.

Cable Stitch Puff Shoulder Sweatshirt

Cable Stitch Mockneck Sweater (also in grey and black)

Daily Ritual Modal Pullover (nine colors)

Daily Ritual Tie Back Sweatshirt (normal crewneck in the front)

I have the Daily Ritual shirt, and I like it. It washes and dries
well and is more than presentable for being out and about. BUT, the side openings come up above my waist as I stretch and move around in it, so I need to wear a camisole tucked into my jeans to stay warm. Not a deal breaker, but just be aware that you may want an extra layer underneath.

I’m long torso’ed so it’s not as bad on me, but my Mom has mentioned she needs a t-shirt underneath or a high rise pant.

How do you fit a sweatshirt under a blazer without it looking bunchy and/or tight in the arms?

  3. Karen says:

I love sweatshirts. I live in Arizona, so I need zero sweatshirts. What did I do? Buy two of these. 🙂

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.
