The Find: Stylish Shoes from Talbots

Sep 17, 2019

Some women find Talbots to be a classic.  Others find the stores wares to be a bit matronly.  But if there’s one thing we can all agree upon, it’s that their shoe selection is amazing.

These simple Isa Block Heel Pumps come in five colors, but I chose this pretty dusty rose.  Their classic shape and comfortable styling pair perfectly with work dresses or jeans.

Is it possible for a boot to be feminine?  These Tish Tie Ankle Boots have a pretty bow detail on the back and a sleek style.  They also come in black.

Tortoise pumps are a wonderful addition to any wardrobe.  They’re an updated basic that pairs well with work or casual attire.  These Erica pumps with gold tips on the heel are high on my wish list.

If you’re in search of a simple loafer, this Ryan Loafer is the ticket.  It comes in seven colors from bright pink to classic black.  They also come in narrow and wide widths.

These Strappy High Heels are a wonderful option for women who need a professional shoe with a little something extra.  These heels offer a 3″ heel with a padded footbed for comfort.

You had me at also available in narrow width! These are gorgeous! I will be going in to try on soon!

  2. Gigi says:

I’m wearing Talbots shoes now, the quality is really good, I appreciate the wide widths available in some shoes, and I find the heels comfortable enough for all-day wear.
I’ve made Talbots heels my go to work shoes they held up better than prior Cole Haans and Rockports.

I have to say that Talbots is my wardrobe secret weapon. Yes- you do have to wade through matronly product, but their dress suiting is so underrated. I bought a dress from them 10 years ago that I get compliments on every time I wear it– and I know that no one else will be wearing it, unlike some of the JCrew standbys.

  4. Mel says:

I literally didn’t even know they had shoes until this post, but wow.

Also, I’d love to see a post about their clothes. After their overhaul a few years ago, I think they are one of those workwear sleeper brands for younger women.

I’m totally obsessed with the tortoise heels after you did a post on them earlier this month. I was very bummed when I checked on the gold tipped heels and they only had them in size 5! Today it looks like they are fully stocked in all sizes! Tall women rejoice at selection!!

  6. Sara says:

Thank you for this post! I worked at Talbots during law school and their shoes are an amazing value…made by very high end manufacturers that would be well-known to your readers. I have bought many classic pairs over the years that have served me well (comfortably).

  7. Diane says:

I like that they have extra room in the upper arms of many of their tops and everything is always work-appropriate. I first got their ponte skirts and suiting when I had to have clothes for a trial 5 months after having a baby and it was a lifesaver as it was stretchy, comfortable, and still expensive-looking. I still get a lot of compliments on the items I have from there.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

Too Many Tabs: April 19, 2024

This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds. Just going to leave this right here.  (I really need to work on “Didn’t make […]
