The Find: Leopard Flats

Aug 22, 2019

When I go in search of a leopard flat, I’m looking for two things: 1) the right balance of colors (Not too yellow.  Not too brown.), and 2) a print that isn’t too large or too small.  And these leopard print flats from Sam Edelman check all of the boxes.

Sam Edelman’s calf-hair flats are a wonderful choice.  The style is classic.  The pattern and color scheme are perfectly balanced.  And the price is definitely right.

Prefer heels?  Sam Edelman makes the same print in a kitten heel, a 2″ heel, and a true high heel.

Looking for a bolder leopard option?  I mean something really unique?

How phenomenal are these Boden Henrietta heels?  I love the details on the vamp and the paler leopard print.  So fabulous.

Also on the hook from Boden, these relaxed leopard sneakers which I’ve been putting in my cart for weeks. I love how they bring that relaxed sneaker feel with a bit of big city chic.

After so many years, leopard has basically become a neutral in my shoe wardrobe.  It goes with everything.  I can’t get enough.

So I’m not sure if others feel this way or if I have a weird bugaboo–but I really don’t like wearing d’orsay style flats. I feel like my feet are exposed to all sorts of grossness during the commute (and even in the office). Can’t get over the yuck factor. It’s a shame because this leopard print is gorgeous!

I have these exact same flats in metallic gold, and they rubbed my heels so bad I literally had to take them off and walk around my office barefoot because my heels were being shredded. Maybe they are just not suitable for my feet but let me know what you think of these!

I wore the Boden heels for the first time today. (I missed the sale return window and figured why not.) I really understand leopard as a neutral now. Sadly, they are definitely not comfortable. Gorgeous, but uncomfortable. I have a narrow heel and they wouldn’t work for many people. Overall, they feel plastic-y on the inside, the heel is a bad angle that’s left me with evening foot cramps, and the sides came angled inward, which made them hard to get on. But so, so pretty.

My Sam Edelman flats arrived yesterday – LOVE. Definitely need to be broken in, but I am in love. Thanks for the recommendation!

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

The Mondays: March 18, 2024

This weekend was a tricky one. The warm weather and bright sunshine of last weekend disappeared in a flurry of wet snow trapping our very active 18-month-old in the house with us. Plus, our babysitter cancelled, so neither of us feels ready for the week ahead. But in between making mac-and-cheese and watching Aristocats for […]
