The Find: The Perfect Boatneck Tee

Jun 20, 2019

I love a good t-shirt.  The kind of top you can pair with jeans or a pencil skirt or wear with leggings.  And would you believe one of the best t-shirts that I have ever purchased is $15?

This Amazon Essentials Women’s Boatneck T-Shirt ($15) is a great basic.  I own the navy stripe and the white.  The white is what I would describe as mid-opaque.  It’s not thin but it still has a hint of sheer.

They also make this style in a dress for $23.  Yes, please.

Looking to buy?  This ran a bit small.  Luckily, I read the comments and bought both the small and the medium to try (knowing I was probably in between at size 6), and the medium was the fit I was looking for.   It runs up to size XXL, which they say is a 20-22.  I would think it might be more of an 18-20, but your mileage may vary.

I haven’t had good luck with rayon since the items did not wash well and wrinkled easily. How have the Amazon items held up for you, and did you need to handle more carefully than the typical wash/dry?

There must be something wrong with me, because I cannot wear boat neck tees without my bra straps showing. What do other ladies do? I feel like I have to push the straps almost off my shoulders so they don’t show.

I’ve purchased a few Amazon Essentials basic items and I love them! i’m just concerned about where the clothes are manufactured and whether Amazon is cutting costs by outsourcing to countries with laxer labor laws. Have you looked into this at all?

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
