The Find: A Cool, Round Bag

Feb 6, 2019

I tend to minimize my weekend attire.  My current uniform is a pair of great jeans and an oversized tunic sweater.  It’s comfortable and effortless, but it can also be a little repetitive.  So how do you jazz it up?  With a cool bag, of course.

This round mini-bag from Mango is a very affordable $29.  It is also the perfect size for a weekend out — it holds a small wallet, keys, a phone and a few small essentials (lip gloss, tampon, etc.).  And from a purely style standpoint, the cool, modern hardware and the unexpected, trendy round shape give it a lot of punch.

Unlike a standard clutch, it has a strap, so you can wear it over your wrist and keep your hands free.  So it’s an inexpensive alternative to my small Mackage bag that I could not live without.

This bag looks so… 1970s? Mod? Not exactly sure if it’s just the way the model is holding it but it reminds me of Daphne in Scooby Doo Gang!

Seeing the link to the Free People Ottoman Tunic reminded me to say “thank you!”. I purchased it back in December on your recommendation and have very much enjoyed it. Much appreciated!

Seconded! I got the tunic in cobalt as a Christmas gift and I love it. The sizing is hilarious, as Belle pointed out…I’m a 6/8 and even the XS is big on me. But it’s incredibly comfy without looking like a sweatshirt (I love a cozy sweatshirt but they’re not exactly chic).

Loving the circular bags right now – I agree, even a relatively inexpensive bag of that shape can really elevate an outfit.

Sloane loves the pool. She jumps from the deck into the water with a crash, never considering her own safety, only to emerge on the surface, shouting “Again!” The pool is my daughter’s happy place. But no place where I need to wear a swimsuit in public is a happy one for me.

The Mondays: July 22, 2024

The Crowdstrike/Microsoft Meltdown forced me to take a few days off this weekend. No laptop. No billable hours. So we packed Sloane up for a visit to a local llama farm, stopped by the pool, went for coffee, etc. Few things are as funny as watching a 23-month old feed carrots to a ravenous rescue […]
