With my weight in flux, I’m not in a place to be spending good money on work attire.  But I need a few items that fit in case I have to go on a series of multiple interviews or I find a job in the coming weeks.  So where to begin?

We’ve talked before about choosing a primary color for your work wardrobe — brown, black, navy or grey.  This way, all of your pieces can be mixed and matched easily.  My professional wardrobe is predominantly black mixed with white and dark navy.

This WHBM Body Perfecting Seamed Sheath (also in plus-size) is miraculous.  The fabric is a stretch material with a mesh lining.  It doesn’t constrict you, but it does smooth.  And that’s all I want.  I’m not trying to pretend to be thinner, but I just want to feel confident, and a little smoothing will do that for you.

The shape is also great.  The wide straps.  The v-neck.  The slim fit.  It’s an updated classic.

If you’re good on black basics, WHBM also has two other sleeveless sheath dresses that caught my eye.  This raspberry square neck sheath is also lovely.  The mix of blues in an abstract pattern on this sleeveless sheath is pretty cool, could be a good work-event cocktail dress.
