This ‘loose ends’ organizer suggestion is the reason you’re the MVP of blogging! SO good! *whips out credit card*

I second the Ann Taylor shoe recommendation! I just got two new pairs of Ann Taylor shoes – One of them is the Bow pump you posted in pink, and the other is these amazing d’orsay’s. https://www.anntaylor.com/felipa-suede-d'orsay-pumps/421103?skuId=22212870&defaultColor=2042&colorExplode=true&catid=cata000020 in the green. So many compliments already!

I basically only buy shoes from Ann Taylor now – you can consistently get them 40% off even when they’re new arrivals, they’re comfortable out of the box, look spendy, and they last forever. They’ve been my go to since I was an intern, and I still buy them now that I have more wiggle room in my budget.

I recently was given a promotion. I knew my merit increase was coming and was going to be higher than most given my performance review. I explained this and was still low balled on the offer. I want the position so I accepted. Once my merit increase went through, I crafted an email explaining my previous salary, my salary after merit, the salary they were offering, and why it’s not reflective of a promotion.

I have made the ask. The in person meeting is happening Monday morning. Send good vibes.

  6. Caitlin says:

Thank you so much for the first link on salary negotiation – I will be transitioning from a temporary position to a permanent hire very soon, and unfortunately since these people know me already, they know I’m young and too much of a people pleaser. I passed my boss some salary data for people in similar positions, so hopefully(!) they realize that I’m using that as a baseline. Time will tell…

The Find: A Striped Tee

Without question, the most worn item in my wardrobe is a black-and-white striped tee. I wear it in winter under sweaters, in spring with white jeans, in summer with black shorts. I’ve been wearing the same one for years (it’s the best). But they don’t make it anymore. So here are some options for replacement.

The Find: Like a McCall’s Pattern

When I was young, my Mother used to bring me along when she would go shopping for fabric. As a result, I spent a lot of time, killing time, flipping through pattern books. So when I spotted this dress, I was instantly transported to the pattern table at a Jo-Ann Fabrics.
