Since I started this blog in 2008, it has grown by leaps and bounds. This summer, I’ve spent a great deal of time contemplating new features, planning content changes, and working out how The Work Edit will look moving forward. But after nine years of blogging, I spend more time questioning whether you ladies will like my plans than I do executing them. So I thought, what better way to learn more about who you are and what you enjoy than simply asking?
Last night, I created a 20-question reader survey. It contains a handful of demographic questions. It asks what content you like and which isn’t relevant to you. And it discusses some of the new features I’ve been contemplating in order to gauge your level of interest. I’m going to leave it up for a week, and I hope it will help direct my ideas going forward.
The link to the survey can be found here. It’s mostly multiple choice, and takes less than 10-minutes to complete. Please spare a few minutes to take it; I greatly appreciate your time and input.
xo, Belle
I just tried to follow you on Twitter and see that I am blocked?
As far as I know, I’ve only ever blocked one person, and I’m guessing you’re not him. My apologies for the mix up. Email me your handle, and I’ll look into it.
@cindylouglazier …thanks!
Just took the survey. Forgot to mention that I like the inspirational quotes that you post! 🙂
Reader since 2010.. you’ve gotten me through unpaid internships, YP life, going back to law school, and re-entering the work force. Where you lead, I will follow.
Oh, gosh, yeah. I forgot that too. I’ve screencapped more than one for posterity.
Also, since the reorg, the number of comments summary has disappeared from the front page so you can no longer see if there are any comments without clicking through. It’s minor, but an extra step, and I like reading what everyone has to say, so will click through if I know comments are there.
Oops. Meant to reply under C’s comment about the inspirational quotes.
For what it’s worth, I don’t have this problem. I can still see how many comments there are on each post by looking at the front page.
I’m using Chrome 52.0 on Mac OS.
What browser are you using?
Hmmm. That’s weird. Thanks, LS, for mentioning. I’m using Firefox 48.0.2. Windows 8.X.
I just filled out the survey, so it won’t let me take it again to add some comments. Wanted to mention: I like that you introduce me to new brands that I now LOVE (eg MM LaFleur–totally obsessed). Wish you would include more content for petites. Thanks!
I took the survey but two additional things I forgot to mention. First, I strongly preferred when the links used to open in new tabs instead of redirecting from the blog. Second, I also like the occasions when you share from your own experiences (reviews, work stories, personal stories, etc). Thanks!
Wait, they don’t open in new tabs? They do in my browser. What are you using?
I use safari. They used to open in new tabs but at some point in the last year(ish) that changed and now it redirects from the blog page. I wonder if others have experienced this? If not, then perhaps it is just my browser. Thanks for all you do!
The new design should have fixed this issue. You might try clearing your cache (I know, they always say that), and reloading the page fresh. If that doesn’t work, I’ll put someone on it.
