Ask Belle: Simple Satchels and Totes

Oct 20, 2015

Dear Belle,

My go-to purse is four years old and falling apart.  I would like to replace it with a nicer tote or satchel.  I’m looking ideally for a black bag, but I’m also open to another color.  My budget is about $300 and I need that to give me an all-around bag that isn’t too big.

I always like the inexpensive bags you post but I want something that will last.  I appreciate you taking the time.  AC

Check 6pm.com for designer and non designer as well — they have good prices.

Neiman Marcus Last Call is a great resource for purses, too. If you’re willing to cull through the junk (using the price and brand restrictions can help there), I’ve found some real gems for not much at all.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
