1) IWT posts a reminder about a what it really takes to be successful.

2) This blush-colored Antonio Melani cocktail dress is absolutely spectacular.

3) TSA missed 95% of the fake guns and explosives that undercover officers attempted to smuggle through security.  That’s just disheartening.

4) Need jacket for work that aren’t suit jackets?  This open-front Halogen jacket comes in black or white.  This collarless Hilfiger jacket has a great ikat pattern that will look great with navy separates. I also like this slouchy boyfriend jacket.

5) The New York Post discusses how Pinterest is making Moms crazy by making things like custom-crafted lunches seem normal.

6) I bought this lapis necklace at Ann Taylor and I love it.  If you turn it over it’s textured gold, so it’s two necklaces in one.  I also love this rose quartz necklace.

7) Refinery29 discusses why your best stories were probably stolen from other people.

8) I love this lace pencil skirt from Banana Republic.  The cobalt is bold.

9) Thousands of Chinese students were expelled from U.S. universities last year, mostly for cheating and bad grades.  Cheating is so commonplace in China that a group of parents protested when the school tried to crackdown on cheating.

  1. A says:

The article about cheating in China was fascinating considering that we’re always being told how superior their education is to ours.

    • Belle says:

Right? It’s the same thing in India. There was a video last year of parents hanging off the 3rd floor window bars at a school to shout answers to kids.

      • Indian says:

I saw that video too – however, it is not rampant. In fact, it was reported in Indian news as a blatant exception. I am Indian and got my Masters there – I moved between schools/colleges several times and not once did I see/hear of anything like this. In fact, if you are caught cheating at college level, you are disbarred for 5 years.

        • Belle says:

Good, I’m glad to hear that. Institutionalized cheating, like grade inflation, weakens the quality of the education you’re paying for.

  2. Gabrielle says:

I have that skirt in white, and not only do I think it looks amazing, I get so many compliments. It’s fully lined, in case you were wondering.

  3. Monica says:

Ha, pinterest stress. If it’s for eating it has to taste good, not look like a cartoon character. Sometimes I wonder if this kind of stuff isn’t the outlet for some OCD Mom and the rest of us are expected to emulate it. Same for parties, there are some cute ideas out there, but honestly KIDS do not care. If you are doing it to impress other adults…well I have better things to do.

    • Anna says:

I wonder how much those kids get made fun of in school. When I was in elementary, it was so uncool to bring lunch. I can’t imagine how uncool it would be if that lunch was in the shape of a panda bear with love notes.

The Find: A Versatile Sweater Jacket

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.
