Layering is the buzzword of fashion. All fall and winter long, chic outfits come seem to come from adding more pieces. But I don’t care what the fashion girlies say, once it hits 80-degrees, I will not be tossing a sweater over my shoulders. That’s madness, and I live in a cooler climate.
So in the warmer months, you need tops that stand alone. Tops that look great without another layer. And this is such a top.

Modern Citizen makes a great dress, and it also makes a great top. Meet the Kenny Asymmetric Tee. I love the draping, the pleating, the asymmetrical neckline. Pair it with simple trousers or a simple skirt, and it’s an outfit. The top just says, “I’m enough.”
This lovely top comes in five colors. I adore the chocolate brown. If you need sleeves, this discounted tee also has the pleated front and a short sleeve.
Sizing runs XS to 1X. Similar tops in a larger size range were hard to find — but I did track down this NEXT top that goes up to size 18. I also found an Estelle top with a pleated bodice that has some similar vibes, but isn’t exact.

Thats what I don’t get these days. “Third pieces” used to be just outer wear that you take off indoors or when it gets too hot. Are you supposed to keep them on at all times now or else you are not fashionable?
