Last week, I was strolling through an airport when I saw a woman wearing the cutest denim skirt and blazer look. She looked casual, stylish and polished. Upon boarding, I immediately ran to Pinterest to find something similar. The ultimate business casual office look for summer days when you need to be professional from the elbows up.

I love this look. A perfectly oversized blazer with a fitted skirt, and chic accessories. Let’s rebuild it.
The Skirt // Denim skirts come and go as a trend, but they always work if you style them well. I love the frayed hem on this skirt and the open slit to keep it breezy. Outnet has a discounted Frame skirt with those same elements. Quince has a lighter denim midi skirt for $50. For a plus-size option, try this Vero Moda skirt.
If, like me, you are pear-shaped, size up and take the waist in to get that straight-skirt look. I had to go up two sizes to get that perfect a-line.
The Blazer // A relaxed summer blazer is perfect for the chilly office. Layer it over anything you wear to work. This option from Nordstrom Rack is a great pick for summer, in either beige or black. Madewell has an earthy linen blazer that is worth a look. For something more affordable, try this light beige pick from H&M.
The T-Shirt // There is no perfect white tee because white tees are a personal preference item. Some women want boxy, others fitted. Some like long or cropped. I want a mid-weight, my Mom a heavier material, my best friend wants a thinner tee. The goal is to find the one that works for you. This essential crewneck tee from J.Crew is a crowd pleaser, but if you have a favorite, leave it in the comments.
The Shoes // You know I love a pointed toe flat. For summer, these Ann Taylor slingbacks give you the look of a business shoe with a slightly breezier feel. For a traditional shoe, try this Natalie flat from Sarah Flint.
The Accessories // Obviously, the giant hoops won’t do. I would recommend a smaller pair with texture, like this pair from Nadri. Also, for the pendant, I found this Monica Vinader textured coin pendant. But, for this outfit, the bracelets are really the star of the show. A stacked bangle is a great piece to have on hand for summer, so I found this pair from Revolve and this more affordable set from Urban Outfitters, which are both great for summer.
The Styling // For the hair, I like the slick back bun look. Sadly, I can never pull it off with the bangs, so I would go for a sleek ponytail. For the makeup, definitely invest in a good bronzer and a pink cheek. I like Merit’s blush in Le Bon Bon for summer; it was a bright pop on the cheek.

This look is so cute and I think could easily transition into fall (not that I’m wishing summer away). Could you please do some fall looks with this type of skirt?
