It’s about to be hot in the Pacific Northwest, too hot for long dresses. So I went searching for an above-the-knee dress with sleeves that I could wear to brunch or church. And this shirt dress from Ann Taylor was the perfect fit.

This crisp, white shirt dress (also in petite) is perfect for Zoom calls and summer dinners on the patio. On my 5’7″ frame, it hits right above the knee at a still appropriate for church, and maybe a business casual office. The dress also comes in a rich cocoa color.
You can wear this dress with sandals, low profile sneakers, or ballet flats. I swap out the cloth belt for a white stretch belt (so you don’t have to deal with the untucked tail). This raffia belt would also be a nice choice.
This dress has become the solution to a lot of “running late” / “toddler won’t cooperate” fashion problems. It always looks good.

Abra, when you swap out belts do you have the pre-sewn loops taken out as well?
So I actually bought this a few weeks ago (in the white) and I found it very sheer on the top. I was very disappointed because the cut is absolutely lovely but it really needs either lining or a thicker fabric. How did you handle the sheerness – do you have specific cami you would recommend?
I have a very sheer white cami that came with a white top that I put under it. It’s sadly not available separately.
