65 days. That’s how long I have to be in Olympia. Even going home on the weekends, it’s a long time. But not long enough to move all the way in for, so I packed like I would for a campaign.
Back in the old days, when I would take off for a few weeks, I tried not to overpack. As some of you may recall, billeting with other staff in a private home or staying in small, cheap hotels didn’t leave much room for extras. The men on the campaign trail also tended to make jokes if the women brought more than a single suitcase. So the rule was usually to bring a few extras but not everything you would have brought if you were free to pack heavy.
Here are the extras I packed to get me through the next two months looking presentable.

My regular shampoo and conditioner can sometimes use a little boost. I like to use this K18 Detox Shampoo and Leave In Mask every week to keep my hair looking it’s best. These two products would normally run $114, currently on sale as a duo for $89.

My skin gets really dry in winter, so as a part of my everything shower, I use this Green Banana Buffing Bar. It scrubs off the dead skin without overdoing it. And it smells like a trip to the beach. Prefer another scent? This coffee and orange scent is sublime.

After a full day in high heels, my feet are done. Applying this Prequel Foot Rescue and the brand’s Moisturizing Gel Socks give my feet a break. If you don’t have time for regular pedicures in the summer, this combination can keep your feet looking sandal ready longer.

While I love Lume’s deodorant for every day, for those days that are more stressful, I need actual sweat control. Their Whole Body Deodorant plus Sweat Control is a good choice for days when you know your glands will be unkind to you.

I have always struggled with neck wrinkles. As I’ve aged, they’ve gotten deeper. This Boost Red-Light Device seems to soften them with regular use. I use it 3-4x per week. You can also use it on your forehead.

Does the Prequel foot rescue also heal blisters or other sores from a day in high heels?
It helps, but Terasil is my pick for blisters. https://amzn.to/3Lu5VhM
