I’ve been obsessed with Keri Russell since 1998. And my obsession has only deepened thanks to The Diplomat. So when I spotted this outfit, I knew I had to remake it.

The Blazer // This look starts and ends with the blazer. The first thing is the color. Olive is typically a fall color, but it works in any season. If you’re an all black girlie, olive is a great color for you because it has that intensity without getting all of the darkness.
The second thing is the style. Keri is wearing an oversized, relaxed option. This is a great look, but I always feel like I’m drowning in an oversized blazer. So if you want a slouchy look, snap up this Aritzia blazer.
For me, I need more structure, but I wanted to hold onto the multi-button look. This Reiss Priya blazer grants the same level of cool with a stronger, fitted shape. Looking for a <$250 option? MM LaFleur has deeply discounted their Origami blazer in olive.
The Jeans / / I love a raw hem jean. It can be dressed up, and it’s cool. It can be dressed down, and it’s relaxed. These affordable kick-flare jeans from AE are a steal. They offer a handful of washes, but this one is my favorite. If you want a slimmer fit, Banana Republic has you covered. Plus-size? These Madewell jeans are worth a look.
Want to wear a more professional pant? Ann Taylor has a great wide leg pants, and I would wear them in black. I might even swap out the tee for a black blouse.
The T-Shirt // This black tee from Madewell is on every influencers must-buy list. It’s 100% cotton. It’s from their premium line, which is partially recycled and beloved for its quality. It’s spendy though at $65 a shirt, but it sells out often and quickly.
Looking for a cheaper option? I am still buying Hanes tees, because $8 for a quality t-shirt is just too good a deal to pass up.
The Shoes // As my wardrobe becomes more casual, I’m thinking more about how shoes up the cool factor of an outfit. Because a t-shirt and jeans it more than just a t-shirt and jeans when the shoes give something extra. For this outfit, I kept the croc-embossed texture and found these fabulous Schutz flats. If you’d prefer to keep the pointed vamp, Cole Haan has a comfortable pair. Both are very stylish and would transition seamlessly from casual to dressy.
The Styling // This necklace from Melinda Maria is a great mix of femininity and masculinity. If you want something simpler without the shine, try this more affordable option from Pavoi.
Since its sunglasses season, I decided to pull an interesting style. I wanted a darker option given the color palette, so I chose these interesting, modern, square frames from Sojos. Sojos is my favorite affordable sunglasses line. They make chic styles, offer polarized lenses, and you can lose them without tears.
Lastly, I like a looser, second day hair look with this outfit. On days when I’m rolling with unwashed hair, I like to dress a little better as a cover. And to boost the look, I love the red lip, but for my skin tone, a slightly berry option, like this Gucci Rosso Ancora lipstick.

Ever since those oversized sweaters in Felicity, she’s been my style icon
How is the quality of the Madewell t’s?
I’ve owned 2 t-shirts from them (not the premium line though) and they were the only two t shirts I owned that actually developed holes in the fabric.
Love this look. I badly want the first necklace.
I want everything she wore in The Americans too.
Love this outfit.
This is a truly fantastic outfit. Love the idea of an olive blazer even in warmer weather. I feel like I have a personal stylist when I read these outfit suggestions and enjoy sketching out similar ones for my closet — particularly since Keri’s style is perfection to me, so thank you! I just wish I was as tall as her. 🙂
Abra, you have been nailing the outfits lately! This one and Monday’s have each been stellar, and I can recreate them with pieces I already own. Thank
you!
