Sometimes I forget that I work from home now. I order a dress or a suit for my old life, and remember that I have nowhere to wear it. Last month, I could resist buying the Open Edit suit I shared here, and luckily, it was the perfect thing for the work trip I am currently on. But every now and again, I place an ill-considered order and find a gem that works in both my at-home work life and my in-office work life.

I originally bought this Spanx Carefree Popover top at the end-of-year sale in black, and it was the perfect shirt for wearing under a suit. It was sleeveless, so no arm bulk. It’s got a button front, which is a bit more modern and gives you the ability to wear it crewneck or v-neck. Also, the top is long enough to tuck into pants without winding up with a duck-tail every time you sit for too long.
Plus, it’s $29. Which is a price you really can’t beat.
If you love a good deal, do not sleep on the Spanx sale section. Their career pieces are usually heavily discounted as they are phased out. I just bought this long sleeve poplin shirt, which is nice with denim. This breezy office-appropriate skirt caught my eye. And finally, my favorite boatneck top that wears well casually or for work is just $49.

Ooh I’m always on the hunt for white tops. Two questions, does it fit TTS and can I get away with just wearing a nude bra underneath?
I am sized as a medium, and the medium is just a hair big, but not in a bad way. I do wear just a nude bra underneath, but nothing with lace.
