I have a wonderful winter-weight trench from Banana Republic, but I don’t have one that’s more suitable for spring. I’m looking for something in light tan with a classic style. I’d also like something that has a slightly looser fit. Here’s what I found.
Billionaire Oligarch Who No One Voted For
Burberry Waterloo Heritage Trench ($2590)
Elected Official
Favorite Daughter Trench Coat ($398)
Legislative Aide
Front Desk
Uniqlo Trench Coat ($99, runs to XXL)
Inclusively Sized
Mango Trench Coat ($140, XS up to 4X)

I love the inclusion of the new “Billionaire Oligarch Nobody Voted For” category lol
Same, it cracks me up every time.
Hear hear, consistently makes me chuckle!
I need to replace my trench coat – Banana Republic Factory served me well for… 5 or 7+ years?… but either the coat has shrunk in the wash or I have grown, or both, and alas, it doesn’t fit. I tried on a possible replacement on Black Friday and hated it. What’s the secret to finding one that’s big enough to be comfortable over a sweater or blazer but not so large that it’s an overwhelming amount of khaki? Is there some possible tailoring magic?
Sigh… Montana and the illusion of clean black jeans as the solution to ‘business’ or ‘formal’ wear.
I was in Hoglund’s Western Wear in Great Falls a few years ago, when a 30-ish aged blue-denimed young man came rushing in and announced to the sales clerk that he needed a new pair of black jeans right away because “he was getting married in an hour and needed to look nice.”
I hope he did.
