It’s a new month. The sun is shining. Sunset is after 6:00PM. My daughter is dosed up on antibiotics and on the mend. AND FEBRUARY IS OVER. So let’s take the win, a deep breath, and a step forward into a better season. Here’s a list of what I’m eyeing, buying and loving.

Over the winter, I significantly reduced my clothing spend. I realized that I am a sunshine girlie, and that I wanted to save my spending for clothes I love, not sweaters that I wear out of necessity. So when I spotted this Sezane Elvira blouse with its gorgeous open work, feminine details and soft feel, I ordered it immediately. Sezane runs a bit small, so I sized up.
Also from Sezane, I love the idea of this relaxed pinstripe pantsuit with a hooded sweater underneath. It feels very J.Crew circa 2006. They’ve also sold me on a pair of woven shoes for summer — either ballet flats or sandals — but I may look for a dupe. I’ll keep you updated if I find one.

It’s more important than ever to consume social media responsibly. And with the ever changing terms of service, it can be hard to know all the ways that Meta uses to track and target you with specific content. Luckily, John Oliver has put together a guide to minimizing the targeted ads you receive and limiting Meta’s access to your data. Because when you don’t pay for a tech product, you’re usually the thing that’s being sold for profit.

Time to clean my makeup brushes has been elusive since Sloane was born, but I recently started washing them before I go to bed on Friday nights. It’s made a big difference in my skin and my makeup. This e.l.f Clean Queen Solid soap is great for brushes or makeup sponges. Add a brush scrubbing pad that suctions to the sink bottom, and you can clean your brushes in a snap.
Still not sure you’re doing right? Check out this short video from Trinny London.

The one ingredient that will always push me to order a menu item is peanuts. Peanut butter. Peanut sauce. You name it, I am there.
These Spicy Peanut Butter Noodles are epic. The sauce is one of the best homemade peanut sauces I’ve ever made. They’re also easy and quick, which makes them perfect for an at-home lunch or a not-sad-desk-lunch.
Looking for another great peanut dish? Don’t miss Caro Chambers charred cabbage and peanut chop salad. Great now, or for summer.

Why does Veronica Beard break my heart this way? I mean…are you looking at this Dash clutch? It looks like all March’s spending money is going to fly from my hand like a bird. It looks so chic, expensive and sophisticated. Ugh.

Thanks, Abra! Saved that noodle recipe.
I’m also reducing my spending right now, but I bought the Pose top in Black from Vuori and it’s my new go-to fitted black tee. It’s thick and flattering. Note that the white one is sheer. I sized up to a small. https://vuoriclothing.com/products/womens-pose-
I think my comment was too long haha.

This Sheet Pan Chicken with Carrot, Avocado, and Za’atar is SO good. I recommend making extra of the feta/EVOO/pistachio mixture.

I just finished two books I both really enjoyed – The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by VE Schwab and Orbital by Samantha Harvey (won the Booker prize in 2024, I think). Both very different and both I recommend!
I loved The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue! If you haven’t read Life After Life by Kate Atkinson I would definitely recommend that as well for a similar vibe.
Every Veronica Beard item I’ve ever drummed up the courage to buy, makes me scream, “Take my money!”. They truly have my number.
Today I received an email from one of my favorite charities – Alice’s Kids. They specialize in funding the “nice to haves” for kids in need – band trip fees, art supplies, sports uniforms etc. usually one kid at a time. All 850 HS seniors at the 6 Altadena high schools will have their prom fees paid which made me smile.
Good reminder to focus on buying what you love. That would probably solve most of my wardrobe woes right now. That and a good pair of jeans.
Okay, so much valuable and enjoyable content here, I will make use of all of it. AND you made partner?! All with the perpetual sicknesses of a toddler in your midst?! You really are amazing. Thank you and a huge congratulations!
