No, Seriously, Buy The Face Wash

Jul 31, 2024

Two weeks ago, I ran out of face wash. No big deal, I have 15 in a stockpile in my guest bedroom closet. So I just grabbed one and switched.

Big mistake.

Within three days my skin was dry, sallow and unruly.  I had used the Kiehl’s face wash I selected a dozen times before, but here my skin was in open revolt.  It was like my dermis was saying, “Listen girl, get your credit card out, order the Gleanser, stop playing around.”

So I did.

It arrived on a Monday.  I started using it that night and by Thursday, my skin was clearer, brighter, and moisturized.  It was the face wash all along.

If you are over 30, you need Gleanser.  It doesn’t strip your skin, but it cleanses well.  It helps keep your natural moisture barrier and pH levels stable.  And that bottle lasted me six months.  SIX.  For $18.  I have paid so much more for so much less.

I also use their affordable Vitamin-C serum.  I like it almost as well as the Skinceuticals.  Almost, but for the delta in cost, I feel no sense of loss from giving up the pricey serum.

I posted all of the skincare products I use to a grid on ShopMy so they’re in one place.  But truly, if you buy only one thing from this blog, ever, in the history of history, let it be this face wash.  Your skin will thank you.

We are alike on Kiehls. It has some kind of sulfur-esk compound in most of their cleansing formulas and it doesn’t like me. Even allergic to sulfur type antibiotics.

#influenced by Abra. She hasn’t steered me wrong yet.

I bought this face wash on your recommendation a while ago, but only started using it this week. This morning when I woke up I did an actual double take on my face in the mirror – it looks more refreshed and healthier than it has in a while, and my face is less oily throughout the day, which is miraculous in this summer humidity. This stuff is clearly as magical as you said!

I second the face wash – my skin feels clean & soft, not at all tight, dry, or dull, and a little goes a long way. I also have and love the Vitamin-C Serum and the Urea Body Lotion. I feel like they do what they promise at a very reasonable price point. I’m planning on trying the multi-quench serum next.

I bought Gleanser after your prior rec and love – LOVE – it. I’ve also purchased the vitamin C serum and while I like it for the price, I think I like Sunday Riley CEO serum more. Its a shame, because Sunday Riley is otherwise problematic – but the product is a champ.

I bought this cleanser on your recommendation because every other cleanser has dried out my sensitive skin. I absolutely love it and am already seeing improvements in my skin texture. Thank you for recommending it!!!

Purchased this and the multi-quench. Excited to test it out! This and the WFH outfits posts have been VERY helpful. TY!!!!

This may sound silly…I purchased the Gleanser off of your recommendation a while back, and it’s been sitting on my counter next to a cleanser that I’m using up. Since seeing this post, I switched to the Gleanser (so, three facial washings). This morning, two coworkers separately told me how nice my skin looked today. Could be the Gleanser? Could be coincidence? I’ll take it 🙂 Thanks for all of your recommendations.

Abra, how does the Versed gel moisturizer compare to the Farmacy Daily Greens gel moisturizer you previously recommended?

I bought this on your recommendation, and all I can say is, “WOW”. My skin looks and feels incredible after only a few days of use with no other changes.

I just ordered this today but I couldn’t get one of your earlier links to work. Now I feel bad because I just came across this post and I was trying to ensure I bought through one of your links. Looking forward to trying this. I really like my Sulwhasoo face cleanser but it’s either expensive at Sephora or I have to buy it internationally (which is what I typically do).

UPDATE: I have been using the Gleanser for a couple weeks now and it amazing. I am usually a full face foundation girlie and I realized the other day, oh, I could actually go out with a little tinted moisturizer and I look good. I’m 41 years old and this has never happened before. THANK YOU
