My Best Picks Early Black Friday Sales

Nov 13, 2023

America’s retailers have decided that Christmas begins in October.  From the end of September until January, there shall only be shopping.  The powers that be have decreed it.  As a result, Black Friday now starts the Friday before Veteran’s Day and runs through Thanksgiving weekend.  Here are my best picks from the early sales.

Madewell // 30% off your purchase with code LETSGO.

My Party Pick. This flutter sleeve dress is perfect for date night now or in the spring.

My Top Picks. These on-trend Ballet Flats // This dark, dramatic Gianna Coat // These cool Mini-Hoops.

Ann Taylor // This is a sale on sale items. 50% off one sale item, 60% off two or more.

My Work Pick. This square neck sheath dress in plum, also in petite.

My Top Picks. This Shawl Collar Knit Jacket // This Raglan Sleeve Dress // This classic Colorblock Crossbody.

J.Crew // This sale has several promo codes for different sale and non-sale items.

My Gift Pick. Their soft, dreamy pajamas are half-off.

My Top Picks. This simple Ribbed Cotton Turtleneck // This Gracie Phone Bag // This relaxed Chambray Shirt.

Bloomingdale’s. The department store is offering $25 off $100 labeled items for the month of November.

My Best Tip.  Bloomingdale’s has the best “work shop” of any department store.  Period.  They also have a great plus-size shop.  Look for labeled items in both.

My Top Picks. The perfect Cashmere Wrap for the plane // So much cool denim, sort by size // 25% off Coats.

BR Factory. 50% off everything on the site in a holiday preview sale.

My Best Pick. The Essential Silky T-shirt.

My Top Picks. This cool V-Neck Pullover Sweater // This moss-colored Cocoon Coat // This Red Dress for holiday.

Another month has come and gone, and between a busy work schedule, illness and the search for new childcare, I almost forgot to ask for questions for the AMA.  Luckily, I remembered late last night.  So here we go. I love stocking stuffers.  They are the best part of Christmas.  There’s just nothing quite like an affordable gift that’s funny or useful or chic (or maybe all three).  So here is Part One of my stocking stuffer gift guides, where nothing costs more than $30.

In the name of fiscal responsibility, I’m taking a shopping respite through the end of the year.  When you write a fashion blog, not shopping is like being a person on a diet who moves into a McDonald’s.  But I’m determined to flex some self-discipline now that my holiday shopping is done.

Add to Cart: Five Recent Amazon Purchases

Since my daughter was born, Amazon has claimed so much of my money that I had to buy stock just to get some of it back.  Between the formula, onesies, fruit pouches, diapers, wipes, and ever evolving list of baby development gear, I could not survive without Prime.   My husband no longer notices the […]
