The Find: Summer Jeans from Nordstrom Rack

Apr 11, 2023

I remember buying my first pair of designer jeans like it was yesterday.  I was 19, and we were school shopping for my younger brother when I spotted a pair of half-price Seven Dojos on a rack in the children’s section.  Someone was either trying to hide them for later or wasn’t interested in taking them back to the correct department.  Either way, they were going to be mine.

Denim prices have been high since the early 00s/late 90s.  $150+ for a pair of jeans became the norm, and we just paid it.  But thanks to Nordstrom Rack, you can buy a pair of great jeans for less than $100.  From designer names to mid-price brands, you can refresh your denim wardrobe for what a single pair of Swarovski-studded Sevens used to cost (IYKYK).

White denim is always hot for summer, but I wear mine year round with chunky sweaters and chambray button-ups.  Rack has an incredible selection of discounted white denim, including these Joe’s high-waist flares for all your al fresco dining in April needs.  (Try them with this dreamy, gauze button-up.)

Looking for other styles?  Nordstrom Rack has 1,000+ discounted pairs to choose from.  Just filter by size, and get searching.

I like jeans I don’t have to hem, so I buy ankle length jeans.  From that pool, I’m smitten with these Rachel Roy distressed girlfriend jeans and these pale-grey washed Lucky jeans.  Need a plus-size option?  These cuffed jeans have a breezy summer vibe.

I have wanted to add a pair of white jeans to my wardrobe for some time, but I am TERRIFIED that I will mess them up/stain them somehow. Any tips for overcoming that fear (or addressing cleaning opportunities)?

Accept that stains will happen – it’s almost easier with white – wet the stain and use a bleach pen (or Oxi clean mixed into a paste). Machine wash, line dry – usually good as new. 🙂

A few months ago, my husband killed two of my plants. I was out of town for several weeks, and while I was away, he apparently forgot that plants need water to live. So when I returned, my snake plant and my Calamondin tree were both dead, while his braided money tree continued to thrive. […]

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
