The Find: The T-shirt Dress You Need

Mar 22, 2023

Occasionally I post an item to this blog and then find myself thinking about it for days.  Do I really need it?  How often will I wear it?  Will it sell out while I think about it?  Should I wait for a sale?

This Tie Side T-Shirt Dress from Boden is such a dress.

Chic enough for a casual Friday but relaxed enough for a day at the park, it was a must purchase.  In two colors.  Because, of course, I needed both the black and the red.

The other great thing about this dress is that the side tie and the accompanying ruching will flatter those of us who have a thicker middle section.  A little definition in the waist never hurt anyone.  And I’m always happy to see a sleeve, more summer dresses should have them.

If you have other great casual dresses you’ve spotted, leave them in the comments.

This dress looks great. Three questions (since you have held one in your hands and I can’t tell the answers from the images or description):

    1. Is there a seam between the top half of the dress and the bottom half of the dress on the back? Asking because I need a dress without such a seam.

    2. Is it pull on over the head?

    3. How poofy are the princess shoulders? Would it look weird on Zoom for office meetings?

    Thanks!

I just bought this dress and wore it to work yesterday – I got so many compliments on it. It’s a great, versatile dress.

      1 – I don’t think so, but I don’t remember perfectly.
      2 – Yes, pull over
3 – Just a slight poof – I actually think it’s the perfect amount of poof for zoom because that helps it look like it isn’t just a basic tshirt.

I am grateful for your insight after buying this dress as I am surprised by some of the terrible reviews compared to what you have stated.

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
