The Find: A Date Night Sweater Dress

Jan 11, 2023

Dressing for date night in the wintertime is a bit tougher.  How do you look your best buried under a pile of wool?  This Amazon dress gives you the coziness of a knit with the sultry appeal of a date night dress.

How gorgeous is this dress?  I love the subtle sweetheart neckline and the deep slit.  It comes in so many colors, you’re sure to find one you love.  Sizes run S-XL, or 4-18 according to the size guide.

I would style this dress with a microfishnet and a pair of brown, high-heeled boots.  I would probably wear a dramatic earring instead of a necklace.  And I’d wear my hair in a messy, low bun.

What are your thoughts on a bra to pair with this? The width of the neckline makes me think conventional straps might be a challenge.

I’m a 63 year old professional me new Grandmother who has been following you, on the recommendation of my daughter, for years. Your honesty around work, mental health and motherhood is refreshing and I learn a lot from you on a number of levels.

Your recent link to the Times piece From Babe to Hag has all my friends talking. The micro aggressions that young women, new Moms and older “still” working women experience in the workplace is real. I’d love to see more about this in your blog, not just for my age group but for all women. We have to get better at sticking together.

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
