Even though I love a good basic, sometimes I want to add a bit of variety to my wardrobe.  And the best place to find something different is in the sale section.  Because unique pieces often fall into the discount bin when others don’t see their promise.

This dotted boucle jacket from Karen Millen mixes neutral colors with a fun print to create a piece that’s work appropriate with something extra.  It’s currently on deep discount, and the reduced price makes it a good buy. It’s also available in plus-size.

For work, I plan to wear it with black wide leg pants and a black v-neck blouse.  For weekend, a white tee, distressed jeans and cool boots are the way to go.  It’s also a great jacket to wear over simple sheath dresses.

I’m always happy for a piece that looks more interesting than the workplace basics that can feel a little stale when they’re all you wear. And I love that this dotted jacket gives me something different to wear on a days when my mood needs a boost.
